Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF)
Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) is one of the most prominent worldwide networks of higher education and research organisations, bringing together over 1,000 academic institutions in 119 countries on all continents. Founded 60 years ago, AUF is simultaneously the executive agency for higher education and research of the Conference of Heads of State and government of countries with the French language in common.
Upholding active solidarity and inclusiveness as its core values, AUF advocates for scientific knowledge as a decisive societal development driver. In September 2021, the AUF General Assembly will launch the new codesigned mission-oriented 2021-2025 strategy committed to foster scientific excellence, employability, digitalisation and systemic transformation. AUF is committed to support francophone countries to succeed in their transformative reformation of academic systems and to consolidate HEIs as durability actors.
To achieve its goals, AUF carries out impactful projects advancing scientific and policy agendas alongside many like-minded partners: states and governments, national development aid agencies, international organisations, nongovernmental organisations, businesses and foundations, university associations.
Building on its global outreach, its longstanding expertise in international cooperation and multilateral dialogue, AUF advocates for a responsible scientific cooperation committed advancing shared global policy topics.
